My question is: Can Project Professional 2016 connect to an instance of Project Server 2010 and if so, what are the limitations that we may encounter? Ideally, we would have one version of Project Professional (2016) which the users would access to connect to either the existing server 2010 or new server 2016 environment. Users may be required to access projects in either program. So for aboutĦ months, we'll have programs running under either a Project Server 2010 or a Project Server 2016 environment. We realize that support for the Project 2010 will be ending on mid-late 2020 and a separate conversion/upgrade project will be handing that upgrade, however our new program needs to be up & running in early 2020.
